Know Better for Cats comes is two varieties - Made with Beef liver or Chicken liver. Note that you can use either Premix with ANY type of meat.
The ingredients we use to make Know Better for Cats are human grade quality. The only ingredient in this premix that is not human grade is the chicken liver. It is made in a USDA inspected facility and manufactured for the sole purpose of pet food consumption. All raw materials are 100% natural, and no preservatives, colours, or other artificial additives are used.
Ingredients: Egg yolk, calcium lactate, beef or chicken liver, gelatin, whey protein isolate, psyllium husks, fish oil powder, taurine, kelp, Vitamin B complex.
Types of meat: Chicken, turkey, beef, venison, lamb or lean pork are all good choices. The meat must be fresh, boneless and fit for human consumption. Use ground or chopped.
We recommend using a variety of meats and rotating these choices if possible. Meats that are 8-15% fat content are ideal.
The domestic cat is a true carnivore and the digestive system is not designed to tolerate the consumption of vegetables or grains.
RAW Meat Recipe
Portion into daily servings: 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup will feed one adult cat. This can be split into two servings.
COOKED Meat Recipe
Storing: 1-2 days worth can be kept in the fridge, freeze the rest for storage. Thaw to room temperature before feeding.

A: Most adult cats weighing 9-12lbs will need about 1/4lb. (1/2 cup) of food each day. This can be split into 2 servings, morning and evening.
Every cat has an optimum body weight at which it is healthiest and performs best. To determine how much food your cat requires daily, it is important to know that weight. Consult literature on breed standards or your veterinarian for help. If your cat is overweight base your feeding on the optimum weight.
For larger breeds, the following formula will assist you in calculating approximately how much of this food to feed your cat daily:
Your cat's weight in lbs: X 0.4 = daily amount of food in oz.
or
Your cat's weight in kg: X 25 = daily amount of food in grams
For eg. 18lb. Maine Coon x 0.4 = 7.2oz per day.

Q: What kind of meat do cats prefer?
A: If your cat is new to a raw or cooked homemade diet, it may be best to start off with poultry as their first protein. Chicken and turkey have a milder flavour compared to red meats such as beef, venison or pork.
If you’re feeding raw, the meat should be very fresh and fit for human consumption. If it’s not fresh and is close to the expiry date, it can turn cats off completely. Meats that are close to the expiry date can be used successfully for a cooked cat food.
We usually recommended to start with a ground chicken or turkey, and then offer variety once your cat is used to the new meal plan.
